DR. CHELSEY DEWSON

Consultant Forensic psychologist

Dr. Dewson is a forensic psychologist with over 17 years experience working as a registered and forensic psychologist. She is registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), where she also holds endorsement in Forensic Psychology. She is a member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS) and is an accredited supervising psychologist. Dr. Dewson holds a PhD in investigative psychology from the University of Huddersfield in the United Kingdom, with a thesis investigating the criminal experiences of sexual offenders and the risk correlates. She has a master’s degree in forensic psychology, along with a bachelor’s degree in criminology/psychology and a post-graduate diploma in psychology. Dr. Dewson holds a diploma in personnel and operations management, a diploma in Government, a certificate IV in frontline management, a statement of attainment towards certificate IV in correctional practice and a certificate IV in juvenile justice.  

Dr. Dewson has worked in custody-based and community-based roles, where she has gained experience, training and accreditation in various psychometric assessments including sexual and violent offender assessments, violent extremism assessments and personality assessments. She has worked within intensive treatment programs in custody and is proficient in the delivery of treatment (group-based or individual) for a range of offending presentations. Within the community, Dr. Dewson regularly provides expert advice to the Courts, including for matters under the High-Risk Offender legislation (relating to sexual violence, non-sexual violence and terrorism/violent extremism matters). Dr. Dewson has engaged in university level lecturing and has facilitated professional training on a national and international scale. She is a consultant to various Government agencies where she provides risk assessments and the like. Dr. Dewson holds a Commission as a former Officer within the Australian Army Reserves, where she was awarded the Royal NSW Regiment Tactics Prize from the Royal Military College. She posted within the Royal Australian Corps of Military Police before discharging in 2019. Despite no longer serving, Dr. Dewson has maintained her passion for supporting the military and continues to provide clinical intervention to serving members and their families. Dr. Dewson also provides psychological support to first- responders, paramilitary officers and the members of the general community.


DR SHARON KLAMER

CONSULTANT FORENSIC PSYCHOLOGIST

Dr Sharon Klamer is a Consultant Forensic Psychologist with 20 years of experience working within the field of Forensic Psychology. She has been registered as a psychologist in NSW since 2001 and is endorsed as a forensic psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioners Registration Board. Dr Klamer has completed a Bachelor’s degree in Science with Honours in Psychology, and a Master’s Degree in Forensic Psychology, from the University of New South Wales. In 2013 Dr Klamer completed a Doctorate of Forensic Psychology from Charles Sturt University, with her research focusing on the qualitative analysis of online sexual offenders. Dr Klamer has 17 years of experience with Corrective Services NSW in both custodial and community settings, plus several years’ experience working within private community clinics. Her focus and expertise have been within the field of the assessment and treatment of sexual offenders where she gained extensive experience in facilitating sex offender treatment programs and completing risk assessments and reports. Dr Klamer has supervised psychologists and student psychologists. 

Dr Klamer has vast experience completing psychological reports and risk assessments for a range of legal bodies such as sentencing courts, the Supreme Court (including High Risk Offender Legislation), and the NSW parole authority. She has extensive experience and accreditation in administering a range of psychometric and risk assessment measures including personality and cognitive assessments, neurological assessments, and sex, violent and terrorism offender risk assessment tools. Dr Klamer has given evidence at the NSW parole board and has presented at conferencing nationally and internationally. 

Dr Klamer’s area of expertise and interest is within the field of complex risk assessment and community risk management for offenders, and online grooming and radicalization of at-risk groups. 


FLEUR TAYLOR

CONSULTANT FORENSIC PSYCHOLOGIST

Fleur Taylor is a registered psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and she is endorsed in the area of Forensic Psychology. She has a Masters degree in Forensic Psychology, and is currently a member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS) and an Associate Member of the APS College of Forensic Psychologists. She worked across community and custodial settings both in the clinical and forensic domains, with adults, adolescents and children. She was previously employed as a specialist psychologist with Family and Community Services (FaCS) and before that with a Non-Government Agency providing services to the Child Protection and Out of Home Care system. In both of these positions she worked within intensive support services teams, providing comprehensive psychological, psychometric, and risk assessments; intensive treatment (focusing on complex mental health concerns, offending behaviour including violent and sexual offending, trauma and abuse, and drug and alcohol use); behavioural management planning; and the provision of reports for Courts at all levels. She has also worked as a psychologist for community based and in-patient drug and alcohol services with NSW Health, providing both assessments and treatment in this area. Fleur has been working in private practice for the past four years and her focus has been on the provision of psychological assessment reports for Courts at all levels; guardianship/kinship/placement assessments for Government, and Non-Government, organisations; and risk assessment reports for a number of Government Agencies.
